Glass Cutting Tool

Wiki

We have a glass scoring tool and a jig for scoring round things. The jig lives in the laser maintenance cabinet, and the scoring tool is bolted in a pair of acrylic fingers. The scoring tool is placed with the notches facing away from the threaded rod, and the flat side without notches against the two 6-32 bolts, and a third bolt is placed in the middle notch to lock it in.

This video does a great job explaining how to cut round stock. The creator uses two buckets of hot and cold water to heat shock the material and separate it at the score line.

No matter what you’re cutting, the edge will still be sharp so make sure to use the appropriate grinding media to soften the edge if it’s mean to be handled with bare skin.
