Notes

Dell Chassis Sizes

We currently have quite a few MT and SFF sizes desktop computers.

  • MT is a microATX size which will accept full-height PCI cards
  • SFF is a proprietary size from Dell similar to a Mini-ITX, DTX, or Shuttle which accepts half-height PCI cards.

Graphics Accelerators

These are PCI express (PCIe) cards which are purpose built for graphics and display performance. The cards are an add-in component plugged into an expansion slot of the computer system. They are also referred to as GPUs, graphics processing units. Systems without these have an integrated solution that has less capabilities and less thermal dissipation capacity. Accelerated features are things like 3D graphics, vector graphics, CAD, gaming, video codec playback, streaming, high resolutions, high refresh rates, multiple monitors and TVs.

Notable cards currently deployed:

  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 Ti; Plexiglass Design Station
  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti; Gaming Lounge Station
  • AMD Radeon RX 580; Linux CAD/Museum Station
  • AMD Radeon Pro WX 3100; 4x of these in the below noted systems, with both half-height and full height bracket hardware.
