Become authorized to use the denhac mig welder. This training is mandatory for all denhac members before they’re allowed to use the MIG machine. The class will cover basic safety training regarding the MIG welder but will not be an exhaustive lesson on welding. This class is also a heavily recommended but optional prerequisite to taking the TIG welder authorization class.
The MIG welder uses a pistol-style torch to deliver current carrying wire protected by inert gas. MIG welding is easier than the TIG welding but offers less control of the weld. The difference is very akin to using an automatic (MIG) vs manual (TIG) transmission.
Attendees must wear non-synthetic clothing and shoes. Welding helmets, jackets, and gloves are provided, but you’re also welcome to bring your own. We do not have shoe covers so make sure to wear some good boots or something you can drop hot slag on.
This class is available to denhac members only, and at no additional charge.
