Mask Making / Leatherworking

In this hands-on leather mask-making class, participants will explore the art of shaping, molding, and detailing leather into unique wearable creations. The session begins with a brief introduction to leatherworking techniques and the types of hides best suited for mask making, followed by step-by-step instruction on cutting, soaking, forming, and hardening the leather to achieve the desired fit and structure. Students will learn various decorative methods—such as stamping, dyeing, and painting—to bring personality and character to their masks, whether aiming for elegant, theatrical, or fantasy-inspired designs. By the end of the class, each participant will leave with a custom-crafted leather mask that reflects their own creativity and craftsmanship.
