It’s that time again for the weekly round up of events!
Monday, March 18, 8 p.m. in the classroom: Usenet Theater presents…Conspiracy Theory.
“A man obsessed with conspiracy theories becomes a target after one of his theories turns out to be true. Unfortunately, in order to save himself, he has to figure out which theory it is.”
Usenet Theater: where the movie is free and the floors aren’t sticky (we hope). Popcorn and soft drinks provided! RSVP on Meet Up. This will be the last Usenet Theater for awhile so, if you’ve been thinking about coming out for the movie night, this would be the week to do it.
Tuesday, March 19, 8 p.m: Radio Heads – a casual discussion group for people interested in exploring different aspects of software defined radio (SDR). RSVP on Meet Up.
Tuesday, March 19, 8 p.m: Weekly Open House. RSVP on Meet Up.
Wednesday, March 20, 7 p.m: CiGDA Hack Night! The monthly CiGDA hack night. This is a casual meetup with no agenda. Come and hang out, chat with fellow game devs, work on your project and get feedback on it. RSVP on Meet Up.
Thursday, March 21, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m: Work from Denhac Day. RSVP on Meet Up.
Thursday, March 21, 7 p.m: Internet of Things (IoT) Denver meet and greet As a build-up to the April IoT 9th event, there will be a meet and greet opportunity to brainstorm a bit on the group and where it could lead. This will be very informal, with no planned speakers, etc but if you have a project you have been working on and want to share with the group that would be a great addition. RSVP on Meet Up.
Friday, March 22, 7 p.m. – 10 p.m: dc303 CONFIRMED dc303 will be meeting.
Saturday, March 23, noon – 5 p.m: Open House. Based on the resounding success of last week’s Saturday open house, we’ve decided to do it again this week! Have you wanted to check out Denhac or sign up to be a member but couldn’t make a Tuesday night? Well now’s your chance to come by, take a tour, and ask questions on a weekend.
Saturday, March 23, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. in the classroom: Intro to Video Production One of our fabulous members, Andy (aka Toast), has graciously offered to give a crash course on the basics of producing quality video. Whether you want to learn how to capture your cat in the next viral LOL video or how to edit your master’s thesis presentation down into a TED talk, Toast is your guy. He’s also the guy who can teach you how to master the art of aggressive inline skating…but that’s another class for when it’s warmer…and for when I’m way braver. RSVP on Meet Up.
Sunday, March 24, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m: Denhac Dojo: A Coding Club for Kids. The result of our organizational meeting and inspired by the code.org project, we’ll be having a hands on workshop for all student age kids during which we’ll be demonstrating the MaKey MaKey and then teaching kids how to code a program in Scratch to apply to the MaKey MaKey. All students 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring a laptop if you have one with Scratch already downloaded. You can download Scratch for free here. RSVP on Meet Up.
Unless otherwise noted, all classes and events are free and open to the public. Come check us out! We’d love to meet you!
